Today was the perfect day to post this. It's been snowing since late last night & I was able to take pictures of all the fabulous things from my weekend getaway & my YIAD card class. First I'll show you what we made at our INKredible Impressions Winter Wonderlude event. It was SO great to get away for a few days & see my friends & not have to worry about anyone but ME. I know that sounds selfish but hey I take care of my family on a daily basis & don't I deserve a little break? I'm so LUCKY my husband is the MAN that he is. Now on to the projects.
On Saturday night we had a shoebox swap. That's where you cut & have all the supplies for each attendee to make your project. I so love this type of event b/c we get to be the "student" for a change. It's a great way for me to learn new techniques too. Here are most of the projects made, a few still need to be assembled b/c it's ALWAYS a late night & by the time you have 4 projects left you're so beat you can't go on, or you persuade your friends to make some for you ;-) After all they're just sitting around waiting for you to make their card, so why not keep them busy?
This was my card. I thought it was too cute & just had to have the gals make one.
The group of gals that are in my sideline are the MOST giving, generous & kind woman I think I've EVER met. Not too many were swapping, but those that did just gave me their swaps. I tell ya, could I ask for better friends??? Here are the cards I received, talk about talent!
This is the inside of the card that's on the bottom right.
My BFF in stampin' up! or should I say my side-kick
Stef demo'd these flowers. I of course was NOT payng attention but will most likely learn it at our next side line mtg.
Now that I've shared the projects I'll share my friends.
Convention '08 gals reunited & all the ladies who helped make this event a success.
Pam Morgan a demonstrator & also an employee with Stampin' Up! came all the way out here from Utah to spend the weekend with us & share some great ideas with us. Stef & I volunteered to do a little demonstration on how classes are great but workshops are BETTER!! Man was it a great motivator for me to get back into that. So if you are interested in having your own workshop,
contact me
Here, Pam got some one on one with Stephanie on how to make our little heart book. Here we all are working hard at our shoebox swap!
Ok
Lynn Larson was FABULOUS!! This is a small display she showed us for a craft fair. She came all the way from Vermont to be here. She also showed us all the different things you can make using our bigshot, dies & fabric.
Here we are on our last day having a nice lunch. It was a great weekend & I'm looking forward to going again in August. If not for the whole weekend maybe just for one day.
Hope you enjoyed these pictures & a little glimpse into my Stampin' Up! world.
YIAD Card Class ~ Bigshot style
Here are the cards we made at my last Craftin' with TLC card class. While I was making my samples it just so happened that I used the bigshot on all of the cards. I always try to make these beautiful cards with a WOW to make sure my customers like them. As you can see these cards are very simple & you know what, that's what they prefer. They want to make cards that they can re-create at home. They really loved the cards, as did I. It gave me the oomph to hold more card classes.
Thanx for stoppin' by & hope to see you here again soon!
